About Xamarin
Xamarin is a Microsoft toolkit for building iOS and Android apps in C#. Shared logic lives in .NET, while screens can be shared or written per platform. Microsoft’s current path for new work is .NET MAUI, which grew out of Xamarin.Forms.
Companies still use Xamarin when an existing app is in production and a full rewrite would cost more than keeping it healthy. We work on those apps, and we plan a MAUI move when the project is ready — not as a slogan, as a real migration.
C# is the language used in much of the Microsoft world. If your backend is already .NET, Xamarin or MAUI can keep mobile in the same family, with the honesty that Xamarin itself is in maintenance, not a greenfield default.
